Beit Yisrael is a collection of teachings from 19th-century chasidic leader Rabbi Yisrael Friedman, known as the Ruzhiner Rebbe, published together with material written by his sons under the title Siach Sarfei Kodesh. These teachings include stories and Torah insights, and were collected and edited by Rabbi Reuven Zack as a sequel to his Kenesset Yisrael compilation, published a number of years earlier. The editor’s introduction includes a justification of having published material that was not published by the author, arguing that certainly the rebbes would want as many people to study their teachings as possible.
