Esther Rabbah, also known as “Midrash Achashverosh” or “Midrash Megillah,” is a midrash on the Book of Esther consisting of two distinct parts: the first, compiled around the sixth century, provides verse-by-verse interpretations. The second, compiled around the 11th century, retells and expands upon the Esther story. The two parts were likely compiled into one work around the 12th or 13th century.
