Gan Naul ("A Locked Garden") is one of three commentaries by Abraham Abulafia, a 13th-century Spanish kabbalist, on Sefer Yetzirah, an early mystical work that describes how God used the Hebrew alphabet and numbers to create the world. Abulafia emphasized what he called "Prophetic Kabbalah," or "Kabbalah of Names," over the study of the sefirot, and discusses both in Gan Naul. The work contains analyses of words and letters, especially from the book of Genesis. The title alludes to hiddenness and is drawn from Song of Songs 4:12.
