Tractate Chagigah (“Festival Offering”) is located in Seder Moed (“the Order of Festivals”) and primarily addresses the commandment to make a pilgrimage to the Temple on the holidays of Passover, Shavuot, and Sukkot. The first two chapters focus on the sacrifices offered then and the ritual purity required of those who visit the Temple. The third chapter addresses the differences between consuming sacrifices and consuming terumot, required donations of agricultural produce to priestly households.
