Moreh Nevukhei HaZeman (Guide for the Perplexed of the Time) is an influential work on the philosophy of Jewish history by 19th-century thinker Nachman Krochmal. The work’s title is a nod to Maimonides’ Guide for the Perplexed, since both works aim to address religious questions through a synthesis of Jewish tradition and secular knowledge. This was the author’s only book, and he had intended to add more chapters. At Krochmal’s dying wish, the book was edited by Leopold Zunz and published posthumously.
