יאור – יסוד: Y’or (“Nile”). Yesod.

יבק – גדולה גבורה תפארת, ג׳‎ קוין, קו דין, קו רחמים, קו חסד: Yabbok (Jabbok). Gedulah, Gevurah, Tiferet; three paths, the path of Judgment, the path of Mercy, the path of Lovingkindness.

יבשה – מלכות: Yabashah (“Dry Land”). Malkhut.

יד – מלכות, או בינה. מצד הגבורה – היד החזקה. מצד התפארת – יד רמה. מצד החסד – יד הגדולה: Yad (“Hand”). Malkhut or Binah; From the side of Gevurah. Yod ha-Ḥazakah (“Strong Hand”). From the side of Tiferet. Yad Ramah (“Upraised Hand”). From the side of Ḥesed. Yad ha-Gedolah (“Great Hand”).

ידיעה – לשון חבור זכר ונקבה: Knowledge, signifying the union of male and female.

יהי – תפארת: Yehi (“It Will Be”). Tiferet.

יובל – בינה: Yovel (“Jubilee”). Binah.

יום – תפארת. ולפעמים במקומות אחרים, כגון חסד ובינה, והוא לפי הלווי: Yom (“Day”). Tiferet and sometimes in its place others like Ḥesed and Binah according to the context.

יומם – חסד: Yomam (“Daily”). Ḥesed.

יונה – מלכות: Yonah (“Dove”). Malkhut.

יוסף – יסוד: Yosef (Joseph). Yesod.

יועץ – בינה: Yo’eẓ (“Advisor”). Binah.

יוצר בראשית – חכמה: Yoẓer Bereshit (“Creator”). Ḥokhmah.

יותרת הכבד – אשת זנונים: Yoteret ha-Kaved (“Membrane on the Liver”). The woman of harlotry.

יחוד – תלוי בתפארת ומלכות. ויתלוי אליהם כל המדות: Yiḥud (“Union”). Refers to Tiferet and Malkhut, and all the sefirot accompany them.

יכין – נצח: Yakhin (“Pillar”). Neẓaḥ.

ילדים – נצח והוד: Yeladim (“Children”). Neẓaḥ and Hod.

ים – בינה או חכמה: Yam (“Seal”). Binah or Ḥokhmah.

ימים – ז׳‎ מדות. מקדם, באריך אנפין: Yamim (“Days”). The seven [lower] sefirot. Previously in arikh anpin.²⁰An aspect of the sefirah Keter.

ימין – חסד. ולפעמים נצח, או חכמה: Yamin (“Right”). Ḥesed, and sometimes Neẓaḥ or Ḥokhmah.

יעקב – מלכות, ומלא בת״ת: Ya’akov (Jacob). Malkhut filled with [flow from] Tiferet.

יפה נוף – תפארת, או יסוד: Yefe Nof’ (“Beauteous View”). Tiferet or Yesod.

יפה עינים – מלכות, מצד רוחצות בחלב: Yefe Enayim (“Beautiful to the Eyes”). Malkhut from the side where they wash with milk.

יצחק – גבורה: Yiẓḥak (Isaac). Gevurah.

יראה – גבורה או בינה, או מלכות: Yir’eh (“He Will See”). Gevurah or Binah or Malkhut.

ירום – בינה מצד החכמה: Yarum (“He Will Raise Up”). Binah from the side of Ḥokhmah.

ירושלים – מלכות: Yerushalayim (Jerusalem). Malkhut.

ירח – מלכות: Yare’aḥ (“Moon”). Malkhut.

יריעה – תפארת: Yeriah (“Curtain”). Tiferet.

ירכתי צפון – נצח והוא מצד הגבורה: Yarketey Ḥafon (“Furthest Place in the North”). Neẓaḥ and Hod from the side of Gevurah.

יש – חכמה בשתוף בינה: Yesh (“Exists”). Ḥokhmah in partnership with Binah.

ישועה – מצד החסד: Yeshuah (“Salvation”). From the side of Ḥesed.

ישורון – ת״ת, כולל ימין ושמאל: Yeshurun (Jeshurun). Tiferet, inclusive of Right and Left.

ישיבה של מעלה – בינה: Yeshivah shel Ma’alah (“Court on High”). Binah.

ישר – מלכות מתייחדת עם הת״ת: Yashar (“Upright”). Malkhut together with Tiferet.

ישני עפר – ג׳‎ אבות במלכות: Yeshenei Afar (“Those Who Sleep in the Dust”). The three “Patriarchs” in Malkhut.

ישראל – תפארת מכריע בין חכמה ובינה: Yisrael (Israel). Tiferet as decisive force between Ḥokhmah and Binah.
