The first commentary ever written on the Talmud, by Rabbi Chananel ben Chushiel (965-1055). In many tractates it appears on the page of the Vilna edition, primarily in the orders of Moed and Nezikin. Fragments of the commentary to the order of Nezikin and Tractates Berachot and Chullin have recently been printed from manuscript.
