Read about how middle school teacher Chani Richmond participated in Sefaria’s Educational Partnership Initiative, using Sefaria to enrich her eighth grade girls’ Halakhah unit on Kavod Habriyot (respecting God’s creations).
This work sheet was created for a project I am doing on Kavod Habriyot. The assignment was to pick a Jewish charity and help them with their needs. During the process of doing this project, we learned all about Kavod Habriyot, chesed, and tzedakah. For my project I decided to create a book drive and donate all of my profits to a school that does not have the the right fundamentals to learn and teach their students.
Overview of project: For my Halacha project I am volunteering my time to an organization called Friendship Circle. Friendship circle is a non profit organization that spreads love and acceptance among these special kids. I will be going on trips with them and to special events to make them feel special. I am volunteering to make all of the kids feel special and like normal kids/teens and not just a disabled child who everyone feels bad for. I will be volunteering for Friendship Circle to work with jewish teens with all different types disabilities to make them feel proud. I really do hope I can continue to do this all my life.
