Suggestions for teachers:
This study guide begins with the fourth chapter of the book. It includes an introductory chapter, the eleven core principles I have developed, and a final conclusion. You may be able to combine some chapters into one session. Some chapters focus on text study, while others are centered on key questions, such as belief in God, or the variety of ways to practice Shabbat. Some chapters should be read before the class meets. There are instructions at the end of the previous class. In the event that you may be skipping sessions, Core principles 3, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 should be read in advance of class. Skimming the study guide and seeing the instructions, the nature, and topics of each unit may help you decide which ones to do, skip, or combine.
There are basically three kinds of material 1) Instructions QUESTIONS or TEACHER 2) Texts in Hebrew with English translation (1.5 line spaced) 3) Quotations from the book (double spaced with quotation marks). Page numbers refer to the book.
