Each of the twelve tribes of Israel had a banner with specific imagery and background colours, described in detail in the Torah’s Parsha BaMidbar. This illustration was the invitation for a bat mitzvah.
The background landscape is made of collaged maps of each tribe’s territory, photos of the Sinai (where the tribes were encamped), smoke, and clouds. The intricacy of the design was inspired when viewing Hindu art at the Rubin Museum in New York City. The desired effect was to induce a tantric experience.
