Happy is the man who has not followed the counsel of the wicked, or taken the path of sinners, or joined the company of the insolent;
The Blessed-Man does not walk in the counsel of offenders,
nor stand on the way of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scorners.
rather, the teaching of the LORD is his delight, and he studies that teaching day and night.
For if in Adonay’s teaching He delights, and in His Torah He meditates day and night,
He is like a tree planted beside streams of water, which yields its fruit in season, whose foliage never fades, and whatever it produces thrives.
then He shall be like a tree planted on channels of water, whose fruit blossoms continually, and whose leaves never wither. And all He does will prosper.
Not so the wicked; rather, they are like chaff that wind blows away.
But not so the wicked: for like chaff which the wind drives away,
Therefore the wicked will not survive judgment, nor will sinners, in the assembly of the righteous.
like this the offender will stand in judgement, and the sinful in the congregation of the righteous.
For the LORD cherishes the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked is doomed.
For Adonay experiences the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked is destruction.
Why do nations assemble, and peoples plot vain things;
Why are the nations in an uproar, and meditating on an empty scheme?
kings of the earth take their stand, and regents intrigue togetheragainst the LORD and against His anointed?
They’ve established themselves as kings of the earth, and commanders conspiring together against Adonay and His Messiah.
“Let us break the cords of their yoke, shake off their ropes from us!”
“Let us break their chains, and throw away their ropes.”
He who is enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord mocks at them.
He enthroned in the heavens ‘Isaacs’: Adonay laughs at them.
Then He speaks to them in anger, terrifying them in His rage,
Then He will have a Word with them in His anger, and in His fury terrify them.
“But I have installed My king on Zion, My holy mountain!”
“Myself I have poured out My King upon Zion, My holy hill.
Let me tell of the decree: the LORD said to me, “You are My son, I have fathered you this day.
I will account the portion.” Adonay has said to Me, “You are My Son. Myself, today, I have fathered You.
Ask it of Me, and I will make the nations your domain; your estate, the limits of the earth.
Ask from Me and I will give You the nations: Your inheritance. And the ends of the Earth: Your own possession.
You can smash them with an iron mace, shatter them like potter’s ware.”
You will smash them with an iron rod, shatter them like potter’s work.”
So now, O kings, be prudent; accept discipline, you rulers of the earth!
Now, kings: be wisened. And judges of earth: be corrected.
Serve the LORD in awe; tremble with fright,
Serve Adonay fearfully. Rejoice trembling.
pay homage in good faith, lest He be angered, and your way be doomed in the mere flash of His anger. Happy are all who take refuge in Him.
Fasten yourselves to the Heir, otherwise He will be angry, and your way will be destroyed when His wrath is kindled even just a little.
Blessed are all who shelter in Him.
