(1) When God began to create heaven and earth— (2) the earth being unformed and void, with darkness over the surface of the deep and a wind from God sweeping over the water—

Classroom Uses for Soundcloud

1. The teacher adds a recording of the text. Students can listen to the text being read along with reading the text themselves.

2. Students record themselves and add the recording to the source sheet. This method gives students extra reading practice. Also, students can record over and over again until they have perfected their reading. They can upload their best effort.

3. Students can record themselves explaining a text and then upload the recording to a source sheet.

4. Class review - At the end of a chapter, the teacher creates a source sheet. Each section of text is added as a separate text. Portions of text are then assigned to students. Each student records an explanation of the assigned section and uploads it under the text. The finished source sheet is shared with the class. Students can review by reading the text and listening to their classmate's recordings.
