(Responsive Reading of a Psalm)
Mah Tovu
Sing upon entering the synagogue,
Numbers 24:5, Psalm 5:8, Psalm 26:8, Psalm 95:6, Psalm 69:14
Mah tovu ohalekha Ya’akov, mishk’notekha Yisrael. Va’ani b’rov ḥasd’kha, avo veytekha, eshtaḥaveh el heykal kadsh’kha, b’yiratekha. Va’ani tefilati, l’kha Adonai et ratzon, Elohim b’rav ḥasdekha aneni, be’emet yishekha
How lovely are your tents O Jacob, your dwelling places O Israel. As for me, in Your great kindness I come into Your house, I will bow toward Your Holy sanctuary in awe of You. As for me, my prayer to You, Lord: at a favourable time, God, in Your great mercy, answer me with the truth of Your salvation.
The Shema

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength. And these words that I command you today shall be in your heart, and teach them dilligently to your children. And you shall speak of them when you sit at home, and when you walk along the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up. And you shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be for frontlets between your eyes. And you shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

The Torah is a tree of life to those who hold fast to it, and all who cling to it find joy.
Its ways are ways of pleasantness, and all its paths are peace.
Help us and guide us, inspire us and provide us with the wisdom Your Torah can show.
Cause us to learn, renew, and return.
Renew our days as in the days of old.
Renew our days as in the days of old.
